Choosing the best Condos Village

By Merlina Linx

The East Village of San Diego is becoming on the list of most popular neighborhoods in Southern California to live. The East Village has seen a tremendous amount of private and public improvements in earlier times eight years. The biggest public improvement has been the addition of the Padres baseball stadium, know as Petco Park. The next big public improvement project planned is the new library.

On the private sector side, almost all new projects have been high rise condos, plus some new office properties and lots of retail spaces. There were too many new condo projects built to list here and much more are planned. However, here (Spring 2008) the entire proposed condo projects have been put on hold for various financing and marketability reasons.

Let me share some of my thoughts on what I think are the greatest condo buildings in the East Village neighborhood of Downtown San Diego. In alphabetical order, there are various residential choices for condo buyers; 777 Lofts, Alta condos, Diamond Terrace condos, Element condos, Fahrenheit lofts, ICON condos & lofts, Legend condos, M2i lofts, Mark condos, Metrome condos, Metropolitan condos, Nexus condos, Park Boulevard East & West condos, Parkloft lofts, Row Homes on F Street, and Union Square condos.

I have my opinions but first let me share with you the opinions of the residents living in these condos, based on my survey results. According to the residents living in the above condos, The Metropolitan condos are the clear winner, with a rating of 4.5 stars. In fact, the Metropolitan condominium is downtown best rated condo building, all neighborhoods included. The Metropolitan is unique in several ways, its 40 condos atop the Omni hotel. Residents of the Metropolitan condos can have room service and maid service from the hotel staff if desired. No other building offers that luxury. Also every unit in the Metropolitan condominium building is a corner unit, all have great views.

The next best rated residential building in the East Village of San Diego is Parkloft. Parkloft is just that a building of lofts next door from Petco Park. Of all of the true loft properties in downtown Parkloft is the greatest, from the construction to the amenities its a step above the rest.

Three recently completed condo buildings in downtown East Village Neighborhood are Alta condos, Legend condos, and The Mark condos. All of these businesses are top quality building with a slightly different appeal. Alta is a very modern design inside and out, plus it has a low HOA fee for a highrise. The Legend condos are very contemporary with a mass appeal interior design. Its developer BOSA has built more condos than anyone else in San Diego and have a great reputation. The Legend condos were built right inside Petco Park. The only condo built inside a baseball park anywhere. It has a great 7th floor common area deck for watching the ball games or just relaxing in a chase lounge by one of many fire pits. Finally the Mark condos is a stunning masterpiece of glass and stainless steel, designed externally in. Its a full service (amenity) building with great views and a phenomenal penthouse that is currently available for purchase for I believe $10,000,000.

Thoughts On Telepathy

By David A Andrews

Sure you may have heard about telepathy before, but do you know the meaning of the word? The easiest way to explain it is when you experience "feelings over a distance." Simply put, it is when someone takes their emotions and transmits it to another without using any actions like hearing, touching, sight, words, or anything else.

Telepathy is simply a natural, although misunderstood level of communication. Over the years animal trainers and scientists have come to the realization that animals use telepathic communications when connecting with one another, not just when up close, but also over great distances.

While humans in the West consider this to be a strange phenomenon, there are still primitive tribes around today who naturally use the power of telepathy. This way they can communicate with one another secretly.

What you need to understand is that telepathy isn't some sort of crazy aberration. Instead, it's something that we should recognize just as we would when coming across a person with speech issues. While we classify this as a disability, it should be the same scenario for someone who cannot utilize their telepathic power. Unfortunately it's not, but hopefully in the near future it will be.

It's unfortunate, but our civilization has lost its ability to stretch the telepathic mind. Even though it's a natural part of the human brain, society has created a shell for most people to keep from using it.

Would you believe that telepathy is linked to your sixth sense? Well it is and you may hear some refer to it as the third eye. Whatever name you have for it, telepathy should just come to be second nature.

Have you ever had a gut feeling come over you? Did it end up happening? Telepathy works in many different forms, and often times we miss it for a simple rush or just negative thinking. The problem is when it happens you find yourself wondering why you didn't pay attention to your thoughts. Then again, there are positive times like a friend you haven't heard from in a long time calls you within the same week you thought about them. It's crazy to think about, but things like this happen all the time, yet we overlook them as mere coincidences, even though a mother/child power is accepted.

What you'll find is that our society has simply lost touch with the ability to utilize our telepathic power. How this began will probably never be answered, but it's believed that it was constantly down played by religions all over the world. Most predominantly were Christianity and Islam. They believe that this is the power of Satan and not a tool the human mind already has inside.

The debate over this subject continues to surface every now and again, but the truth of the matter is that religions have a lot of power over our civilization. We are taught that our own natural abilities should be pushed aside for the Messiah, the Savior, or the Prophet (depending on your religion).

While we aren't trying to offend anyone, you have to ask why religions would be so distrustful of telepathy. Our own opinion is that if others possess a power such as this, they can challenge the leaders of the church. Since no one wants to lose their power, they keep everyone suppressed about the matter. Granted, it's not like this everyone, but when cases arise it's usually the reason.

Then of course if it's not religious talk, you can always turn to the scientific thoughts. Even though we do have open-minded scientists who believe in telepathy, there are some out there who think it's virtually impossible. The thought behind it is that you cannot taste or touch it, nor numerically measured. Believing this only keeps the positive thoughts at bay.

It's a big dilemma considering scientists have no problem accepting emotions and instincts. Are these individuals being prejudice? It's possible, but since scientists can feel emotions and instincts themselves, they consider this okay. When it comes to telepathy though, there is a lot left to be explained, so they don't acknowledge it.

Some believe it could be that the scientists who oppose telepathy are simply jealous. After all, it doesn't seem fair that someone could do something like this, which is why they don't want anyone else to have them. So instead of branding something different, it is always considered an instinctive response.

This mystery may never be solved, but there are definitely different scenarios that could be true. Another version dates back to biblical times when the Tower of Babylon story came around. Even though the languages were brought about to migrate people, it could be the same for telepathy. Hopefully some day we'll get a definitive answer.

How To Save A Marriage In Therapy

By Sabrina Summerfield

Where do most couples end up when their marriage starts to fall apart? For the most part it is couples therapy or counseling of some nature, right? When neither person wants to let go but they do not know how to fix their issues, then they turn to an objective third party to show them the way. The question is whether counseling can actually save a marriage.

Before you go into a counseling session with your spouse, both of you need to understand that it is not the definite cure to all of your problems. You cannot hire someone else to do the dirty work and make things all better, no matter how skilled they may be.

People that go into their sessions expecting the therapist or counselor to validate their own thoughts and feelings and fix the problems that they see in their mate are the ones that come out disappointed. What a therapist really provides is objectivity, not validation. The mindset has to be different if this approach is going to work for the couple.

A therapist is not going to take sides or say one person is right and the other wrong. Their job is essentially to steer the couple to working out the issues, which are created equally by both of them. They both share bits and pieces of the blame, but therapy is not about blame.

The issues that must eventually be brought to light during therapy are the ones that lie beneath all the petty squabbling. A husband may argue to death that his wife never cleans the house but the real issue is likely that he feels she does not love and value him enough to keep the house clean for when he comes home from work. That is the issue the therapist cares about.

If you don't fix the deeper issues the marriage will only continue to unravel.

In order to get to the bigger problems you have to go into counseling without the idea that someone is right and the other wrong. You have to be willing to just listen to your spouse without assuming what their words mean for you personally.

Let's consider an example. A man goes into a session and hears his wife saying how lonely she is. He feels this is an attack on him for not being home and he starts saying how he is the one always working and she just sits at home. She is now defensive as well. Yet, what would have happened if he just heard that she was lonely and did not make it about his work pattern? What if he just simply listened?

If you want to save a marriage through therapy sessions then you can't automatically feel blamed by your spouse's problems. It's extremely difficult to hear that the other is lonely without blaming yourself, but that is what must be done to make this approach work.
