Items To Understand About Gratitude Abundance

By Millie Laker

How grateful are you today? Gratitude abundance teaches you to be grateful for the little things in order to get the bigger things in life you need.

Gratitude is learning to be thankful. Many people think that they have little to be grateful for, however most of us have more things than we think.

One of life's greatest blessings is health. Persons who are no longer healthy will remind you that they should have been more grateful when they had their health. Persons having health are able to start again even when everything else is lost. They may regain lost items and rebuild items of importance.

Most of us should be grateful for the shelter that we have over our heads. Around the world today, there are millions of persons that would be grateful to have only one of the rooms in our homes, no matter how run down that home may be, to protect them from the rain, cold or heat that is outside tonight.

If you are reading this, you likely have electricity in your home. You have a computer and power. Think of the millions to whom such luxuries do not exist.

Have you stopped to be grateful for the food you have in your home. Tonight millions of children will go to bed hungry. These children are not just in third world countries, but may be just around the block from your own home. They could be down the street or even next door. Yet we find ourselves not wanting what we have but something else, so we head out to dinner without a second thought.

Take time to be grateful for your job. Remember that in the recent downturn in the economy many people have lost their jobs as well as their primary means of supporting families. Even so, many will have at least a year's eligibility to unemployment compensation. Without leaving their home, they have money coming into the home on a weekly basis.

Have you stopped to give thanks for your family of origin. They provided for you while you were unable to take care of yourself and may have paid your way through college. Tonight there are thousands of children that will sleep in the unfamiliar bed of a temporary emergency foster care home and may be moved to another home tomorrow. Thousands more still live in abusive homes and will go to bed tonight in fear.

With many things to be grateful for, many people still live life focused on only the negative things that have happened. They choose to focus on what they do not have rather on the blessings that are a part of life. The result of their negative thinking is those very things they long for are being pushed away from their lives.

Gratitude abundance teaches you to start being thankful for the little things and as you change your way of thinking you will begin to use positive thinking to receive those things you do need in order to be very happy.
