Defining Landscaping

By Gabriel Meriwether

Landscaping can be defined as an activity to change the physical appearance or landscape of an area or a piece of land. Its main goal is to make the area or land more beautiful. Changing the physical appearance of an area may include cutting, growing or rearranging the plants, trees, fauna or flora i.e. the living elements. It can also, include redesigning the physical layout of the land i.e. adding ponds or fountains, elevating a piece of land; to make it look like a hill or adding different structures such as a gazebo. Landscaping may also mean adding weather controlling systems and lighting systems.

Is landscaping an art or a science? It is both. Art is imagination, while science is knowledge. When it comes to landscape design, you cannot have one without the other. You need a good imagination to be able to visualize the transformation you seek. You need to have knowledge of how to implement that imagination in the best possible manner.

There is a small difference between landscape designing and interior designing. However, landscaping outdoors isn't that much different from interior designing either. Landscape design involves completely transforming your area of interest, whereas, interior designing does not change every aspect of the area of interest; it simply rearranges certain things while brining in something new as well. On the other hand, landscaping outdoors does include transforming the area of interest, but not entirely, it also includes furnishing the outdoors.

If you have a big garden, you can opt to erect a gazebo. Or, you could decide to go for simply furnishing your garden with the most durable and elegant furniture sets.

Resin is a synthetic material, which is essentially secreted from the trees (sap). For manufacturing furniture, resin is processed as such to hold similar characteristics as plastic.

In hot weather, you may want to soak up the fresh air but, also enjoy a cool shade in your garden. Keeping in mind that the garden surface can be uneven and have moist soil, you must buy a furniture set that is best for such conditions. Resin furniture will be the best option in this scenario. It is durable, rigid, strong and sturdy i.e. it is best for the uneven garden surfaces and the moist soil. Besides this, many resin garden furniture sets come with an umbrella stand; therefore; you can enjoy fresh air while under the shade.

Resin patio furniture and resin outdoor furniture are similar. The only minute difference is that resin patio furniture can be bought in sets. For example, the Tiffany resin furniture sets, the venetian resin set and the roman resin set etc. These sets are also made by Kettler.

When it comes to the outdoors, emphasis is given to the Adirondack chairs or the chaise lounges. But, rocking chairs are also a very relaxing piece of furniture to have outdoors. Single, as well as two person rocking chairs are also available easily in the market. The most common rocking chairs are made of resin, teak or wood because they are lightweight and easiest to move.
